About Better Tomorrow Counseling
Dr. Nilou is the founder of Better Tomorrow Counseling. She holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and is a dual licensed marriage & family therapist (LMFT) and professional clinical counselor (LPCC). Dr. Nilou has over 14 years of clinical experience working with children, teens, families, and couples from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Among her areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, pre-marital and couple counseling, academic issues, bereavement, chronic illness, spirituality, acculturation and trauma. She is an AAMFT approved supervisor and has been an adjunct professor and supervisor for the Couple and Family Therapy programs at CSULB and Alliant CSPP.

Meet Dr. Nilou Tohidian
She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine, and received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Long Beach. She continued to pursue her passion in higher education and obtained a doctorate degree in Psychology from Alliant International University California School of Psychology (CSPP).

I place a great deal of emphasis on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship based on authentic collaboration, patience and trust. I believe through a therapeutic partnership based on honesty, compassion and understanding, we can find healing and enjoy a more fulfilling life. My goal is to help build a deeper understanding and empowerment within the person to help create adaptive solutions for a meaningful everyday life”

Appointment Policies
Our Rates
- for a 50 Minute Session depending on the practitioner’s experience and licensure level.
We offer a complimentary initial 15-minute phone consultation session and a limited sliding scale upon need.
Payment Method:
Cash and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.
Scheduling and Office Hours:
Appointments are available Monday through Saturday. Please call or email for availability.
Cancellations and No-Show Policy:
Any no-shows or cancellation made less than 48 hours in advance will result in a full session fee. Please note that insurance companies will often not reimburse us for missed sessions or late cancellations.
